Carolina Dopico

Carolina holds an industrial engineering degree from the University of Malaga (Spain), a PhD in bioengineering from the University of Southampton (UK), and a master’s degree in sports biomechanics from the University of Granada (Spain).

Carolina has 17 years of experience in a wide range of areas, such as biomechanics research, where she developed computational models of implants interfaced with probabilistic data analysis tools; risk and reliability engineering for autonomous marine vehicles; and most recently, as a team leader in the creation of maritime sector emission reduction regulations at the UK Coastal Maritime Agency. For the past year, he has been consulting on projects and ventures related to environmental and social sustainability, with a focus on cross-disciplinary collaboration. She is currently collaborating for the IMPETUS project as a reviewer and mentor of citizen science projects, and is in the process of preparing several projects for European and private investment funds.

Architectural firm that was born in response to the challenge of modernizing our buildings through sustainability programs with the aim of increasing energy efficiency and promoting the use of renewable energy.

We conceive and transform our buildings in an integral way, with design principles that emanate from passive architecture together with the support of bioclimatic designs, thus contributing to the mitigation of climate change while improving the conditions of thermal comfort and well-being of users.

Jara Pascual

Manuel León

Manuel León is a lecturer at the University of Southampton, in a top ranked Computer Science department. Manuel holds a PhD and an MSc in Web Science, an interdisciplinary field that explores the challenges of the web in our society. Certified as Data Ethics Facilitator by the Open Data Institute, he has special interest in data literacy and data science education, fulfilling the roles of Head of Learning of Southampton Data Science Academy, faculty member of Winmark’s Deep Tech Leadership Certificate. Manuel has broad experience in the education technologies, online education and general education fields. As such, he fulfills the roles of Academic Director of Editorial Octaedro, a Spanish publishing house ranked n.1 in its field by Scholarly Publisher Indicators, and Champion for Online Learning in the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences of the University of Southampton.

Manuel has also fulfilled several leadership roles in EU funded projects of several programmes (H2020, Erasmus+, Creative Europe), and written successful bids for these funding schemes.
